Juhani Aaltonen & Raoul Björkenheim duo

Having been one of the founders of the big band UMO and Tasavallan Presidentti, and having played a lot with the likes of Edward Vesala, Reggie Workman and Andrew Cyrille, Juhani Aaltonen just seems to improve with age. The grand old man of Finnish jazz finds a good sparring partner in Raoul Björkenheim, who has always gravitated towards exciting situations with outfield geniuses such as Bill Laswell, Lukas Ligeti and Henry Kaiser. Now they present a fresh duo program, in which delicate tones are imbued with a glowing luster.
