Alan Matheson – Wade Mikkola Duo

Classic Finnish compositions re-imagined in a jazz setting, is the theme of this evening’s concert. The program consists of arrangements (by Mikkola and Matheson) of well-known compositions by Oskar Merikanto, Jean Sibelius, Erik Lindström, Toivo Kärki and George De Godzinsky. The Matheson-Mikkola duo has performed this material on many occasions in Finland and in Vancou-ver, Canada (the home town of pianist/trumpeter Alan Matheson) to universal acclaim.
